March & April Events
I have 15 paintings that will be on view at Many Hands Gallery in Capitola, CA as part of their Birds & Bees show. Let me know if you stop by or need me to come meet you for a cup of coffee when you stop to see the show. Gayle's Bakery is just a few doors down. What more could you want?
Some of the new work are this group of new encaustic paintings. These 6x6" paintings all group together nicely.
I did say it was a birds & bees show. Here are the bees. Three new 12x12" oil and wax on wood panel.
A bit more information about the show and the list of other artists who are participating.
In the coming days I will post more detailed images of all of the pieces in this show. In addition to these pieces, I have a great jump start on the year's work and have quite a few things going on in the studio. I will also be hosting an open studio in April.

March and April Art Events
Out of the studio and out into the world.
First up, the Pajaro Valley Arts Council in Watsonville, CA has a really great exhibit up right now called Wax: Contemporary Encaustic Works. More than 70 artists are represented, showing an exciting range using encaustic wax as a medium.
Lots of fantastic work. I went to the opening and plan on getting there again to enjoy the show without the crowds. I have three paintings which are included in this show.

Next up, be sure to check out the Spring exhibit at Many Hands Gallery in Capitola. Birds & Bees are on display, with many of my mini paintings on hand. At least 13 of my small-scale paintings are on view as part of the show.
This exhibit will be up for March and April.
Note: Many Hands will be participating in Santa Cruz's First Friday art event. I'll be there on Friday, April 6 from 5-8 pm along with many of the other artists listed. Consider yourself invited!

October Update
October began with a party. We had our big fundraiser for our local school, where I had donated one of my paintings. I'm happy to say that bidding was lively and it looks like we raised some much needed funds. My painting went to a great new home that night.
Bidding closing on the art portion of the auction. My painting is on the easel.
My work is currently in a couple of venues here for you local folks in the Bay area. If you go to Los Gatos Framing, I have a couple of paintings there, including one of my mini bee paintings.
My work is also at Many Hands Gallery, in Capitola. It's right near Gayle's Bakery, in case you need an excuse for a little field trip. I have a lot of work in there, including one large painting of Moss Landing, several medium sized paintings, and a lot of my small-scale paintings. These include some of my encaustic paintings as well my paintings of birds and bees. This work should be up through the month of October.
I also have one painting up at Saffron and Genevieve, in Santa Cruz. If you haven't been to this shop yet, it is well worth the visit. Scarlett, the owner, has an amazing eye for one-of-a-kind pieces and I hear tell that she just got back from a buying trip to Texas. I'm not sure how much longer this painting will be up, but it's there in the shop now.
Keep checking back as I am back in the studio working on the next round of paintings. I can tell you that I have one large painting on the easel, several small-scale paintings in the works, and I've had a few days of playing with encaustics. I'll be sure to share new work here.
Art events: May & June
Moss Landing, 36x48", oil on canvas
My painting, Moss Landing, is part of a special exhibit that opens today at the Santa Cruz Art League. The show is titled Earth Portraits: Contemporary Landscape Painters of California. This is SCAL's 81st annual Statewide Exhibit featuring landscape painting. You can read more about the history of this special exhibit here. The show promises to be a good one. According to SCAL's website, you can expect to see "the best of the best in living California landscape painters. You can expect to see inventive, colorful, daring, sublime and refined artwork presenting the beauty of the State of California."
Beach Glass, 20x20", Oil on canvas
It's the final weekend for my solo exhibit at Regale Winery, here in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It's a such a beautiful venue with really wonderful wine. If you're looking for something fun to do this holiday weekend, be sure to stop by Regale's tasting room on Saturday or Sunday.
Approach, 6x6", Oil on panel
