About the Artist:

Giselle Gautreau is an artist who's work can be described as contemporary landscape paintings. 

Born in Massachusetts to a French Canadian family, Giselle grew up in Massachusetts and Vermont.  She studied painting at the Maine College of Art where she got her BFA.  Giselle went on to receive her MFA in Painting from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts.   

Giselle has received awards for her work, including a Professional Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.  Her paintings are included in private and corporate collections.   She lived in California for 10 years where she was represented by Hang Art Gallery in San Francisco. Giselle currently works and teaches at the McGuffey Art Center in downtown Charlottesville, where she is a resident artist.
